I help established businesses organise domain ownership, access, renewals and DNS changes. The work is coordinated with the websites, email and services those domains support.
Understand which names are important and who controls them
Your trading website, customer email and internal services may depend on accounts created years ago. A former employee or agency might still hold the login, while renewal messages go to an inbox nobody checks.
I establish the domains, registrars, registrant details and access arrangements, prioritising the names that matter to daily operations. The aim is a clear record of ownership and responsibility that the business can keep using.
Map the services using your DNS
DNS connects a name to more than the public website. Records can support email, verification, subdomains, transactional notifications and external platforms. I identify the purpose and owner of relevant records before changes are made.
A record that appears unfamiliar may still be important to another department. Understanding those dependencies prevents a website change from becoming an email or customer-service problem.
Inventory important trading and supporting domains.
Identify website, email and application DNS dependencies.
Clarify registrant, account access and recovery contacts.
Organise renewals, billing and authorised changes.
Document the configuration and decisions the team needs.
Coordinate provider moves and DNS changes
I can plan registrar transfers, hosting changes and DNS updates with the suppliers and staff involved. The work establishes previous settings, timing, verification and the approach if the change fails.
For an ecommerce move, checks may cover the storefront, payment notifications, order emails and connected platforms. The change plan follows the services affected and their importance to trading.
We review who receives renewal notices, which account pays and how access can be recovered. Where appropriate, I help move responsibility away from personal inboxes or arrangements nobody can explain.
I can work with your existing registrar and hosting provider. The recommendation considers control, continuity and cost; transferring everything is only useful when it solves a real problem.
My domain business, Serallo, complements this work. BCP Web brings domain oversight together with the wider systems and operational requirements of your business.
Agree a defined project or ongoing role
You can commission a domain and DNS review directly, include it in an infrastructure project or agree continuing oversight. The deliverables may include an inventory, access and ownership findings, renewal responsibilities and a prioritised change plan.
Consultancy is £80 per hour, with project quotes available. Registrar renewals and other supplier charges are shown separately. Detailed ownership, renewal and account investigations are separately scoped from the standard ecommerce audit.
Based in Bournemouth, I work on site across Dorset and through to Southampton, with remote work further afield. A free discovery meeting normally lasts 30–45 minutes. Bring the account you cannot access, the proposed provider move or the portfolio you need to organise.
Domain and DNS questions
Do we have to change registrars?
No. We can improve access, responsibilities and documentation while keeping a suitable existing provider.
Can you help without moving our email?
Yes. I establish the services using the domain and plan around them. Website and email arrangements can often remain separate.
Can this form part of continuing IT work?
Yes. We can include agreed domain and DNS tasks in a wider infrastructure or advisory arrangement, with responsibilities and costs defined.
