Keep improving with someone who understands the business

Once the operation is understood, we can keep turning opportunities into working improvements. I provide ongoing advice, implementation and progress reviews around the priorities and level of involvement you need.

Turn a report into a programme of improvements

The Ecommerce & Operations Audit gives you an actionable roadmap. Some businesses deliver it in house, some use an agency, and others ask me to implement the changes. We can choose the approach that fits your team and budget.

Ongoing work can cover individual recommendations or a wider programme. We decide what comes first, which dependencies need resolving and how to check the benefit. The aim is sustained progress that you can see in the operation and the numbers.

Focus time where it makes a useful difference

Your priorities may include removing a repeated administrative task, improving the buying journey, connecting stock and accounts or investigating a process that still causes delays. I can work through the requirement and deliver the solution.

Keeping an experienced person involved also helps with new decisions: a supplier proposal, a platform change or a growth plan that needs a technical view. Familiarity with the business makes those conversations more useful.

  • Implement agreed recommendations from an audit or review.
  • Investigate recurring faults and operational exceptions.
  • Support developers, managers and staff with practical guidance.
  • Review proposals, costs and integration requirements.
  • Measure outcomes and decide which improvement should follow.

Check whether the changes are delivering

For each significant improvement, we agree a sensible way to assess the result. That might be time spent processing orders, picking errors, support workload, hosting expenditure, conversion rate or average order value.

The measurement follows the objective and the information available. We establish a baseline where possible and discuss other changes that could affect the result. A later visit can show whether the new workflow is being used and where further refinement is worthwhile.

A clear working arrangement

We can agree defined projects, hourly work or a continuing arrangement. The remit, budget, timing and treatment of additional work are written down before starting. Consultancy is £80 per hour, with fixed quotes available for suitable projects.

You receive a clear account of work completed, decisions needed and next steps. If a new issue changes the priorities, we discuss what should move or what additional work is justified.

The audit includes a follow-up meeting to explain findings and discuss next steps. Implementation, later progress checks and continuing advice are separately paid services.

Stay connected to your team

I work with existing developers, agencies and operational managers. That can mean defining a requirement for someone else to deliver, checking the outcome or handling implementation myself. We keep responsibility for each piece of work clear.

For a continuing role across budgets, suppliers and technology direction, fractional IT director support may be appropriate. For a single issue, a focused project may be enough.

Start with a useful conversation

Based in Bournemouth, I provide on-site support across Dorset and through to Southampton, with remote work further afield. A free discovery meeting normally lasts 30–45 minutes and can be at your premises or online.

We discuss what you want to achieve, the work already under way and useful initial directions. If we have already completed an audit or project together, we can scope the next stage from what we know.

Ongoing consultancy questions

Do we have to sign up after an audit?

No. You can use the report with your own team or another supplier. Continuing work with me is optional and separately agreed.

Can we book a future progress review?

Yes. A later review can assess implementation and results, with scope and price agreed as paid work.

Is ongoing consultancy emergency cover?

Support hours, responsibilities and contact arrangements are agreed for each engagement. Regular availability is Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, UK time. Urgent out-of-hours work is subject to availability at £150 per hour.
